Message from President

Welcome to the Utah Association of Teachers of Japanese website! Our goal is to provide easily accessible and pertinent information for all members. Members are dispersed throughout the state and we hope to serve and help each one of them.
I have started learning Japanese when my parents moved from Brazil to Osaka, Japan. I was only 14 years old, but I fell in love with this amazing language and culture. After receiving my BA in Japanese Teaching at Kyoto University of Foreign Studies, I came to BYU to pursue my Masters in Japanese Language Acquisition. After teaching Japanese at Salt Lake Community College and BYU, I started teaching Japanese at American Fork High School. It has been my dream to teach Japanese in a secondary school since I was in high school in Japan.
We need your input and participation and please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns or questions.
Yoroshiku onegaishimasu,
